Alex Tauchen, MD

Hip and Knee Replacement Specialist

Treatment Philosophy
My main goal in treating patients with hip and knee issues is to make sure that they fully understand both the nature of their problem and all of the treatment options available to them. I strongly believe in maximizing non-operative treatment such as physical therapy, anti-inflammatory medications, and various types of injections prior to proceeding with surgery. If we decide together that primary hip / knee replacement or revision surgery is the best option, I spend the time necessary to make sure that the procedure is explained in detail and that all of the patient’s questions are answered. This is very important to me because I believe that patient education, understanding, and managing expectations are crucial for a good outcome. I strive to provide the highest quality of care from the time I initally meet the patient and their family all the way through their final phases of recovery.

Personal Interests
Outside of work, I enjoy spending time with my wife and 2 young children, playing hockey, cycling, and running.
